Dr. Leon S. Benson completed a Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery fellowship at Harvard. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and Chief of the Division of Hand Surgery at NorthShore University HealthSystem. Dr. Benson earned his medical degree and completed residency training at Northwestern University. He is also a Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Actively involved in academic medicine, Dr. Benson has authored over 20 peer-reviewed articles, a textbook, and numerous book chapters. He is an Associate Editor for The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and contributes to national board exam development. In his free time, he trains his therapy dog, Cruise.
